So many developments!

Wow, it is amazing how many new and fun things Kaitlin is doing these days. In physical development, she is now a crawler. Two weeks ago she began the crawling process with getting up on all 4's. Over these past two weeks she's been practicing and she's now a full-fledged crawler! She doesn't have a traditional crawl though - it's more of a 3 point stance with one leg always kicked out to the side for extra balance. She's also become very adept at sitting and standing up on her own. Her main incentive for standing is the ability to chew on her crib in this position, much to her mom's dismay. Amazing that just a couple months ago she was just laying around all the time!

In language development, she has continued to follow in her dad's footsteps with her VERY vocal nature (in other words, she's a loud mouth!) She always has something to say, whether it be a scream of delight or yell of protest. Whatever it is, it is always LOUD. We got together with the family on Saturday night and Mallory and McKenna, her second cousins were there. Mallory is 2 weeks older and McKenna is about 6 months older, but Kaitlin had no problem showing them who was boss. She actually made Mallory cry with all her yelling and "in your face"-ness when they were playing on the floor. She really is just looking for someone who speaks her language, but she comes across as a bit overzealous at times!

She also has a couple words now. "Uh oh" is a favorite, as is "bye bye" with the obligatory hand wave. The hand wave is backwards (her fingers wave to herself), but we're working on that. She's also learned to "high five" people and I swear I can hear her saying it too, but Scott isn't too sold on this one.

Finally, she has a new facial expression. No longer do we vacillate between only smiles and cries. No sir, you're not getting off that easy because now there is...the punishing scowl. She furrows her brow and frowns and attempts to make you feel about 2 inches tall in a matter of seconds. What she doesn't realize is that coming from a 22lb baby girl, the only reaction she is getting is laughter. Which makes her scowl that much harder.

She is doing her uncle James proud with her attempt at the patented Koenig stare down.
