It was a big weekend for Kaitlin, which started early on Thursday night. We went to Chamberlain's to celebrate her Papa's 52nd birthday and even got to meet the owner, Mr. Chamberlain!! BK and Andrea gave Kaitlin a t-shirt from Las Vegas and mom dropped off a nasty Texas Tech t-shirt from Uncle Jerry. We'll be using that as her first cloth diaper!! The dinner was outstanding and the company was even better. Kaitlin did great and gave us plenty of time to eat and visit with the family. However, at about 8:30pm she let us know in a not so subtle way that we would not be staying for dessert. Luckily, we had packed her jammies in the car so she was singing her night-night song before we ever got out of the parking lot.
Saturday we went to the Rangers game with my team from work. We had seats by the left-field foul-pole and had free food/drinks in the concourse area above our seats. Kaitlin got to meet several of my co-workers, including their kiddos. The game was a 7:05pm start time, but that didn't phase Kaitlin in the least. She was very excited to see so many people and dance to the loud music at the game. We made our way from the concourse area to our seats and managed to catch a couple of the middle innings. Then, as "The Wave" was making it's way around the stadium, Summer decided it was time for Kaitlin to participate. As it came around to our seats, Summer stood up and raised Kaitlin up in the air, just as everyone stood up. Kaitlin immediately exploded into tears and we called it a night.
Sunday, we went back to the Rangers game but this time got to go sit in the box because Nanny had some extra tickets (see the Shutterfly website for pics). Again, she did wonderfully, but was considerably more vocal this time around. I think she took note of the elevated volume levels at the game Friday and decided to take advantage the second time around. All in all, it was a great weekend and we enjoyed getting to see everyone.
