Today is Kaitlin's 7 month birthday (yes, we celebrate every month)! Apologies for the lull in posting, but her daddy went through a brutal busy season that ended a few weeks ago (thank goodness) and didn't have much time to post. There have been LOTS of changes for Kaitlin since we last posted. Here are just a few:
1) She LOVES eating oatmeal cereal, carrots and sweet potatoes, but hates peas (we are working on this). She especially likes to sucks on apple slices! Her mommy makes all of her baby food using the Magic Bullet that Nana got her for Christmas. Next up on her menu is green beans.
2) She can drink from a sippy cup and has even started holding it herself.
3) She has started teething -- the front two on the bottom are in and more are on the way.
4) She took her first trip to her Nanny and Papa's cabin in Red River, New Mexico (see the pics at the shutterfly link, to the right of the webpage).
5) She has become much more vocal and tends to learn a new phrase each week (e.b. "baa-baa", "paa-paa", etc). This week's phrase is more of a grunt that she does when she gets excited.
6) She has gotten much better at standing up and is able to support her own weight. Now it's just a matter of perfecting the balance thing and then she is on her own.
7) She is learning how to snap her fingers and loves watching her Papa snap his.
8) She's also recently stopped sleeping through the night, due to the teething and growth spurts. Her mommy and daddy are increasing her food in-take to see if that helps out (only woke up once last night at 4am).
9) She loves going to Kindermusic each Thursday with her mommy and listening to the CD at home.
10) She stopped going to day-care and now gets to hang out at home with her nanny Elizabeth on mondays & tuesdays and then her mommy on wednesday - friday, which has been great!
