We headed to Houston for Mother's Day weekend and to have Claire baptized in the same church Scott and I were married in a little over 6 years ago. It was a great weekend, with Cindi, Stan, Amanda and John making the trip down to be there for the service. Amanda served as godmother again, so now she has the faith of two little ladies resting in her hands! ;-) The service was wonderful, and Heather and Mike were nice enough to take time out of their Mother's Day plans to be there. Claire did great, she even sang during the songs and was very cuddly the whole service. She wore the same gown made by my paternal grandmother that I wore when I was baptized in 1980, and that Kaitlin wore when she was baptized in February 2008. It was nice to be able to bring Kaitlin up to watch the baptism on a step stool. She of course played shy during the rehearsal, but when it was time for the real deal she proceeded to stick her hands in the water and then bring it up to her mouth - basically drinking the water. NEAT. It was a very special day and we are thankful everyone could be there for it.
