On Friday we left for Houston to spend some time with Nana and Pop, and to attend a couple birthday parties. We also went down to Discovery Green, a new park in downtown Houston. There are a ton of pics on Shutterfly from Kaitlin's foray into the water fountains there, she had a blast. She even met a boy with her exact same birthday but a year older. His parents were kind enough to let us borrow a Little Swimmer diaper, since we weren't planning on her going in the water we didn't bring one and the poor girl was waddling around with a 10lb diaper for most of her morning. She was a bit embarrassed to say the least.
When we got back to Dallas we went and purchased Kaitlin yet another birthday present. (I wonder how long pre and post birthday you can call still call them birthday presents?) We got her a Little Tikes car, which she absolutely ADORES. We took it for a couple spins around the block and the house today. I had Scott put it in the guest bedroom when she finally broke herself away from it to have a snack of "sauce" (applesauce), and then a few hours later when I was putting away the laundry she wandered away and I found her in there, in the car again! She had crawled inside herself and was just sitting there talking to herself. She loves that thing!
We also got her a Little Princess decorated table and 2 chairs. She doesn't really show very much interest in that now, but I'm sure in a couple months she will enjoy playing with it.
She ended the long weekend with a relaxing bath with her dad before he leaves for Orlando tomorrow. She even got to break in her new hippo towel, courtesy of Nannie and Pawpaw. (Notice she is on her duck phone in this picture. It was a very important call).

hmmm? no mention of her watching a football game?
There were no football games on this weekend. No ma'am, no football at all. Weird.
Very cute! (I'm Jamie's sister-in-law). Where did you find a kid table and chairs as we are looking for one---although hopefully a bit more manly version for our little guy. Thanks!
Hi Abbey,
We found the table and chairs through Craig's list actually. But I've heard Ikea has great ones for kiddos, very reasonable.
Thanks! No ikea near here so we may need to come visit Jamie in TX:) My mom says she say some in the Land of Nod catalog too if others are looking.
