At the moment...

Just thought I'd share a little post with a snippet from each of the girls.  First, on Monday my friend Jen gave me some old lullaby CDs her girls no longer use.  I played one song for Kaitlin and Claire that night before bed, a sweet instrumental Brahm's Lullaby.  Before I knew what was happening, Kaitlin was BAWLING in her bed.  Not just crying, but bawling.  I thought she had hurt herself somehow, even though she had been lying there the whole time.  I asked her what was wrong and in between sobs she choked out "It's just...so....beautiful....and I'm so....happy."  My goodness, what are we going to do with this girl?  We should've known she was sensitive to music when at 16mo I was letting her watch YouTube "Elmo's Sleepy" with Andrea Botticelli and she would sit there and silently cry while watching it.  At that point she couldn't verbally tell me what was going on, but she loved to watch it over and over and just sit there and cry.  Now I know she is very moved by music!  What a sweet girl.

Bryn has found her feet this week and it is so fun to watch her try and get those toesies into her mouth, or just lazily play with her feet.  She is also rolling all over the place, across the room if you let her.

Claire had tubes put in her ears this morning.  We sent Kaitlin to Red River with Nanny and Papa over the long weekend, both so we could focus on Claire and because Kaitlin will have to get tubes and possibly adenoids and tonsils removed in the next few weeks and we didn't want her to see what happens.  Kaitlin left on Wednesday and Claire has been missing her badly, asking every hour or so "Where's Kaitlin?" and variations on why she is not with her on her vacation.  So when I woke Claire this morning at 5:30 to head to the surgery center, she pretty much broke my heart by leaping out of bed and saying excitedly, "Oh, are we going to pick up Kaitlin?!?"  Her next question was "Are we going to a special breakfast?"  Man, what a huge letdown she was in for, poor thing!  She did great, actually held the nurse's hand and walked back to the OR for the procedure and was out in about 10 min.  She did have a hard time waking up from the anesthesia, lots of screaming and crying and wasn't really herself for about 3 hours, and then it was like a switch flipped and she was immediately back to her happy-go-lucky self.  Hopefully this will keep us from visiting the pediatrician every 3 weeks with another ear infection!  Like I said, Kaitlin is up next in a few weeks, wish us luck!
